POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Create the most excellent teen program by strategically developing and implementing teen activities. Ensure the program/activities maintain a Christian focus and embrace HHYD’s Mission to provide a Christian outreach focused on the spiritual, intellectual, and physical development of inner-city youth and their families.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teen Lead: Help work with teens and lead teen programming and small groups.
- Growing and cultivating teen participation.
- Building and nurturing relationships with youth, families, staff across the organization, stakeholders, and community members.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teen Leader:
- Oversee all HHYD’s teen programming, including monthly and seasonal themes, activities, character and social-emotional development, assessments, and community service projects.
- Hold weekly Bible studies and small group gatherings that focus on the spiritual, character, and intellectual development of teenagers.
- Overseeing a teen program calendar in increments of 4- or 6-week periods. Hold various group gatherings, such as sporting events, eating out, relationship building, career pathways, etc.
- Help teens develop career goals/life plans, monitor and achieve them, and work with parents, guardians, teachers, and staff. The goals should include high school graduation, college or career training, spiritual growth, employment, and career goals.
- Preserve and uphold HHYD’s values and character while enforcing behavior rules and procedures to ensure order within your teen group.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by the program director.
- Participate in other HHYD programs and events as appropriate, as assigned by the program director.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION:
- Committed to HHYD mission. active, growing faith in Jesus Christ, in agreement with HHYD’s statement of faith.
- Good organizational, managerial, communications skills, etc., Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Google Suites.
- Good classroom management skills, character qualities: personable, compassionate, firm, patient, cooperative.
- Valid MN driver license and ability to comfortably operate a 15-passenger vehicle.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in teaching, youth work, and administration.

Hospitality House Youth Development (HHYD) is seeking a Floating/Substitute Teacher & Van Driver to join our Urban Learning Center’s after-school programs. This part-time position is responsible for teaching and conducting classroom activities for K-9th grade students either in the absence of the regular teacher or in place of the teacher, as needed.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Floating/Substitute Teacher & Van Driver supports the Urban Learning Center (ULC) by stepping into classrooms as needed across grade levels, primarily in the after-school and summer programs, and by providing reliable transportation services for students. This dual role ensures both continuity of instruction and safe travel for students, while modeling Christian values and fostering academic, social, and spiritual development in alignment with Hospitality House Youth Development’s mission.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Support HHYD’s mission: To provide Christian outreach focused on the spiritual, intellectual, and physical development of inner-city youth and their families.
GENERAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Classroom Coverage & Instruction (After School Programs)
a) Facilitate classroom instruction and activities based on existing lesson plans and curriculum.
b) Support students’ spiritual growth and relationship with Jesus Christ through modeling and appropriate discussions.
c) Maintain classroom order and a positive learning environment in accordance with HHYD’s values and expectations.
d) Assist students with homework assignments and ongoing academic work across subject areas.
e) Communicate with lead teachers and the Education Manager regarding student behavior, progress, and needs.
f) Guide students in character development and reinforce HHYD’s behavioral expectations.
g) Ensure the proper use and care of classroom materials and technology.
h) Provide feedback to staff on instructional needs or adjustments when stepping in for extended periods.
2. Transportation Responsibilities
a) Safely operate HHYD vans to transport students to and from designated locations for after-school and summer programming.
b) Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs.
c) Ensure student safety and behavior expectations are maintained while in the van.
d) Maintain a clean driving record and comply with all applicable traffic laws and safety procedures.
e) Collaborate with the Education Manager and program staff on daily transportation logistics.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS
● A strong commitment to HHYD’s mission and Christian values, including agreement with The Statement of Faith and Statement of Sexuality.
● Flexibility and adaptability to different classroom environments and student needs.
● Effective classroom management and student engagement skills.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite, as well as basic computer literacy.
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills with both students and staff.
● Bachelor’s degree preferred; prior teaching experience or relevant childcare experience strongly valued.
● Valid driver’s license required. Must be at least 25 years old with a clean driving record to operate HHYD vans.
● Ability to work part-time, typically between 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM (Monday–Friday) during
the school year

The program emphasizes development of Humility, Harmony, Honor, Hospitality, Heart for God, Honesty, and Hard Work.
Role:
We are seeking a pasionate Art Teacher to engage students in hands-on creative activites that build confidence, self-expression and faith-based character development. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, patient, and able to maintain a structured, positive, and Christ-centered classroom. You should inspire students to explore various art techniques, encourage teamwork, amd connected their creatibity to Christian values.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and lead daily art lessons (painting, drawing, crafts, mixed media)
Integrate faith, prayer, and biblical themes into lessons
Promote student creativity, confidence, and positive behavior
